Is Neurolanguage Coaching any different from regular teaching?
It absolutely is! In Neurolanguage Coaching, a Coachee is in the center of everything. Together with their Coach, a Coachee explores their motivation, needs, skills, and sets language goals for the upcoming language coaching sessions. Neurolanguage Coaching is not directive and it is based on brain-friendly techniques.
What makes Neurolanguage Coaching a brain-based method?
The Neurolanguage Coaching method relies heavily on neuroscience and neurolinguistics. The Coach brings awareness about the brain and various mechanisms into the learning process, i.e. neuroplasticity, neurogenesis, the learning journey, and the learning plateau, the limbic system, learning styles, and many others. Your coach is there to help you explore your brain and try the brain friendly techniques that work for you.
Are there coursebooks used during sessions?
Language books might be used but not necessarily. It depends on the Coachee’s goals and needs, as well as interests and desires. A Coachee and Coach together will decide what materials will be used during sessions. Everybody is different, and it is a Coach’s job to make a session adequate for a Coachee.
So, can a Coachee decide what they want to do at a session ?
Yes, they can and they do. A Coachee knows best what type of language, in terms of vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, style, etc., they need and a Coach is there to share their expertise and help achieve a Coachee’s goal in a brain friendly way, taking into consideration Coachee’s learning style, motivation, language level, needs and many other elements.
